Compared with the thread processed by traditional cutting tap, The thread processed with non chip extrusion tap has super high strength. It does not form threads by cutting the granular structure of the material, On the contrary, due to the special geometry of the tap,The material is extruded and redistributed to form threads. This chip free extrusion process does not damage the inherent fiber orientation of the metal, On the contrary, it makes the metal material more dense. Therefore, the thread processed by extrusion tap has the mechanical characteristics of resisting large tension and torque.


Extrusion tap is an ideal tap for machining thread after drilling with hot melt drill. Bushing formed by hot melt drilling, Even at the thin-walled part of the lower end of the bushing, Extrusion taps can also squeeze and redistribute material to form threads, The strength of the thread is effectively guaranteed.


Cold-Forming Taps

It is applicable to all metal materials that can be processed by hot-melt drill, including steel, stainless steel, light metal, aluminum alloy and metal materials with tensile strength no more than 1200n / mm.

The drilling cuttings produced in ordinary drilling operations can be connected into pieces of material, which can be used for extrusion tapping.


Working Principle:

In the figure, the blue area represents the thread part, and the red gray area represents the extrusion tap.

In the figure, the yellow line represents the inner diameter of the thread bottom hole for the cutting tap, and the green line represents the inner diameter of the thread for the extrusion tapping of the extrusion tap, which is slightly larger than the inner diameter of the cutting thread.

The cutting tap cuts off the material to form a thread.

The extrusion tapping of the extrusion tap is completely different: the material will redistribute in the inner wall with the extrusion movement of the extrusion tap to form the thread.

Note that as the metal material moves up and down, the extrusion thread finally forms.
